Supporting Local. Supporting You.
During the recent pandemic, it has become apparent that hardships don't only affect individuals, but that they impact the entire community, from our economy to our mental health. Citizens of Leduc and businesses were significantly impacted by the economic downturns that resulted from the COVID-19 pandemic. With this taken into account, I aim to work through the effects of this pandemic by strengthening both the communities health and wellness and the economy of our great city with strong, concise initiatives.
Initiatives that focus on supporting the most important factor of Leduc, our local residents. This is why I am running for Mayor; because I believe together, with our local residents, all local services, from businesses to non-profit agencies, recreational organizations and including our rural neighbours, we can rebuild after a world impacted by Covid, what it truly means to be "supporting local".
What I Stand For
1. Local Economy
I aim to encourage the community to think, shop, and live local. By stimulating the local economy and putting our focus towards supporting local business and people, we will help build the backbone of Leduc's economy. Especially with the impact of COVID-19, it is now more important than ever to advocate for this.
Just as connecting our local businesses with one another builds a viable economy, the same approach will be directed towards connecting members of our community to one another. Building these connections will not only strengthen our community but also the mental health and wellbeing of our residents. If elected, I will develop an asset-based community development model that enables citizens to become increasingly involved and connected with one another.
3. Regional Partnership
The building and strengthening of our connections with local rural partners allows for our agricultural industry to further flourish within our region.
When We Support Local,
We Support You.
If elected, I will be providing a public report every quarter on the progress related to all of my campaign strategies within local media sources
My Platform Strategies
1. Reducing Property Tax
If elected, in November 2021, I will aim to start the process of effectively reducing Property Taxes in the City of Leduc by 5%.
2. Donation Matching Initiative
As your Mayor, I intend to donate the first 6 months of my city salary to establish a city wide matching donation initiative. I will work with the City of Leduc administration to secure operational dollars to match ongoing donations.
3. Establishing a
If elected, together, we will create a year-round marketplace that will allow Leduc and County citizens to have a place where they are able to sell their local goods, and create opportunities where members of the community can come together to build long lasting relationships.
5.Telford Lake Wilderness Park
I want to establish and promote activities available at Telford Lake, a hidden gem in the heart of our city, for all four seasons.
4. Leduc Online Marketplace
As a tangible demonstration on how we can further support local during these challenging times of the pandemic, I have endorsed Ikari (about.ikarishops.com) and am actively supporting them by signing businesses up on their online market place. With support of this initiative, I ensure to focus on supporting local businesses through past hardships and beyond future ones.
6.Capital Project Transparency
To build trust within our community on how your tax dollars are being spent, I will be creating public signage outlining the total cost of the infrastructure project, the timeline associated with it and the benefit to the community.
